women against imperialism oral history project
The Women Against Imperialism Oral History Project was created to historicize the work of this feminist collective through recollections and interpretations from its participants. Active from 1981-1996, Women Against Imperialism was launched by the Women's Caucus of the Bay Area chapter of the Prairie Fire Organizing Committee. Participating in social movement endeavors from reproductive justice to internationalist solidarity and political prisoner support, in the words of one participant, WAI brought feminism to the anti-imperialist movement, and anti-imperialism to the feminist movement.
